아일랜드의 '감자대기근'(Potato famine, 1845-1849) 당시의 사회 풍경을 담은 노래로 배 고픔을 참지 못해 옥수수를 훔쳤다가 Australia 의 감옥에 실려가는 'Michael'이라는 청년과 뒤에 남은 그의 애인 'Mary'에 관한 얘기이다.
